Who We Are
Upstage is an entirely student-run, student-participating theatre company in residence at Wellesley College. Upstage Productions highly values rich and provocative plays by and about women. We aim to prioritize the voices of people of color, deconstruct gender roles, contemporize the theatrical canon, and celebrate brave new works by playwrights of diverse backgrounds. We are drawn to stories that invite us to question our surroundings, to empathize with the unfamiliar, and to contemplate what could be. Stories that broaden our understanding of the human condition.

What We Do
We produce five student directed, acted, and designed productions per academic year that range from classics to contemporary drama.  In addition to our main stage Season, Upstage puts on a 24-Hour Theatre Festival, Staged Readings Events, a Cabaret, numerous themed Community Nights throughout the year, and more. We are committed to enriching the lives of our members outside of the rehearsal room and are dedicated to providing opportunities for growth in all aspects of the theatrical process.
